The Prime Minister has U-turned on his previous position on whether trans women are women.

He was commenting for the first time since the Supreme Court ruled last week that the term ‘woman’ referred to biological sex.

In 2022 before entering Number 10, Sir Keir said “a woman is a female adult, and in addition to that trans women are women.”

His new comments came as Equalities Minister Bridget Phillipson said the ruling means transgender women should use male toilets.
